North Carolina authorities moved in on a location this past week where an illegal poker game was being held. The authorities arrested eight people and seized a slew of poker paraphernalia.

Poker players have voiced their concern over Commerce Casino’s stance regarding online poker. The Poker Players Alliance sent a letter to the casino, and it was signed by some of the top professional players in the game.

A Justice Ministry Commission claims that the monopoly on Internet gambling should end for the Dutch and that online poker should be opened up to several companies in the future.

Although home poker games are legal in many places throughout the US, the games become illegal when the house makes money. That is what police are alleging after arresting a man in Thomasville, North Carolina.
